The world is in uproar over the Darren Wilson verdict. Usually we at TrueSlamBook.com stay away from political matters and religious based debates. However, this one causes for us to make a statement.
We have followed the story all the way through and many things have stood out. The thing that hurts us the most is the way the matter is being labeled.
This isn’t about a crime against a black male. This is a crime against an American Youth on American Soil. There are many contributing factors that go into the actions that took place that day. There has been evidence, testimony, expert evaluations and more. The one thing that is a #FACT is that we all were not there.
An officer killed a youth and the world began an uproar and called it a protest. Many artist made songs bashing the officer and bashing the justice system. I think by now we have learned that the world of justice is driven by interpretation, environmental upbringing and status quo. Equality is built on what one perceives should be oppose to true fairness.
New Orleans born rapper Turk dropped a song entitled “You Mad Yet.” This track however, is unlike the others. Turk decided to take the anger and direct it towards life. This track shows that individuals can understand that a situation is a circumstance that one can overcome. “You Mad Yet” shows how one can overcome adversity, defy the odds and turn the negatives into motivation.
At a time when Black America is so angered and outraged by the outcome of the Ferguson Verdict, is a time that motivation should be at an all time high. Fuel the drive with anger. Turn tragedy into triumph. Create a new generation of Activist. Begin to fight for the Civil Rights of a Nation and not just a Race. Allow Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton to lead from the office. It’s time the new generation learn to lead the Nation.
It saddens us to know that we have missed the mark on being united. Funny thing is, I just wanna know: “You Mad Yet???”
Thanks Turk for a staple track that’s deeper than the words expressed.
I talked about Solange yesterday, so today I gotta give it to the Queen Bey….. #BeeHive
As we all know, Beyonce shut the world wide web down for a few seconds with the recent release of her video 7/11.
All I know is this is my SONG…………. Beyonce is in her mood where she is on #Ratchet gurl teas, and I live. A lot of the haters felt the video was wack and the song was weak. Funny thing is ANYONE who feels that way clearly isn’t into the party scene. The song is a direct reference to what we are doing in the club. Furthermore, it is more of a dance song. Queen Bey has given us a full blueprint to the new 7/11 dance routine. LoL.
Yesssssssssssss Gawd Yonce’. Mind You, I’m still swerving on that grain, and now I gotta put my hands up and freak the chair. Speaking of Freaking the Chair. Babeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, when she ever gave that chair its whole life in this video. Yessssssssssssssssss Queen Bey……. Serve me Sex Chair Realness…….
I really appreciate the artistry that Quen Bey is playing with. She has taken the time to break the mold they have forced her to be in and let her hair down some. Speaking of hair, what did you think of the hair styling in this video?????? It gave me real Hopped up out the bed and turned my Swagg on Teas…..
Now, that I have gotten my whole life all over again and given you yours, I have one question…. With Beyonce dropping surprise music and shytt, will K. Michelle have a chance with her recently released Single????????? #Oop… (sips tea and logs out.)
All I was trying to do was mind my business and have a nice day. Why did someone have to submit these pics and dare me to say how I felt? Well, since you asked…….
I have a few questions. Now, Solange you know I lives for me some you. I love your music, your spirit, and your originality. No Shade Gurl, at times I even think you sing better than Bey. Haaaaaaaayyyyyy Yoncé!
1. Why you marry him?
2. Do he wake up like that?
3. Ain’t he Matthews age?
4. What Julius think about him?
5. Did you just marry him because Common was unavailable?
6. Do he got a good Stroke Game?
7. Can he keep up with you?
8. What did Tina say?
9. Bytch, do he got Coin like dat like dat?
10. Do he smell like Drakkár Noìr?
11. Why Bytch Why?
Okay, now! I’m all for loving who you want or whateva. But I feel like this match is really disturbing. Like, didn’t him and Matthew go to high school together or something? Then, Erbody talking about Matthew with young Women. What about Solangé with Grandfathers?
Bish, like was there really no other pickings for you? Bytch you know in still in love with your Baby Daddy with his Fine ass. Chile, whatever he did it can be forgiven. Go back to him. Ooh chile, I know he made ur cooty cat WETT. Mind you, does this one even do positions other than Missionary? Chile, he look like he gave sex in dress socks and be slipping by accident.
On another note, I know it was Solangé wedding. However, I just wanted to see the pics to see what Bey had on.
Bytchhhhhhhhhhhh. When I tell you Beyoncè Slayed in this Body Con dress and Bangy platform. Bish, u Betta come thru and Secretly steal my Attention.
Yes Bytch. Bey Stormed!!!!!
Now back to Langé and Daddy Warbucks. I really wanna comb his beard and give it a deep condition. It looks like it smells like back when.
Lastly, what was Solangé giving in this outfit Hunni?
I mean like Bytch right, this Aaliyah inspired Queen of the Damned look was cute for HER or whateva. #TrueTea, this outfit is not #Tea for what’s suppose to be one of the most memorable days of your life. I do NOT want to remember this outfit. -TSB
So, you know the pictures of the Queen Bee Lil Kim and Remy Ma-n hit the web the other day and the fans went in. Now, I’m all for the Sisterhood of Female Rappers but I just feel like Remy being real phony.
Based on the Instagram post Remy had been trying to find the pics for days and was unsuccessful. Mind you now girl! You Remy Ma and couldn’t nobody in your camp call Kim or Noah and ask for the damn pics? I mean for all that Bish you coulda tweeted her. #TrueTea.
Now, Kim gonna show Remy madddddddd love and shytt and that’s def what Real Bytches do. However, you know TrueSlamBook.com keeps it 100. I feel that if Remy would have been with Nicki first, then bumped into Kim it would have been a whole nother kind of meet and greet due to Remy being PHONY. #NoShade but, is it me or is Remy giving off Groupie teas since she been home??????? #IJS
The notorious picture that started it all. Lil Kim is Serving up a good dish of Bangy Cunt Barbie Doll Realness. While, Remy Ma-n is serving up ButchQueen Up In Drag the Chopped Effect. Ughhhhhhhhhh, she is hella annoying. I don’t see why my boo Papoose stayed with him. I mean her. All he had to do was slide on out when she was in jail for being stoopid. Now I’m not one to not hold a person down, but she got locked up cuz she wanted to Flex. Well Flex yo ass Single then. Haaaaaaaaaay Papoose!!!!!!
All in all I must ask: Do you think Remy is sincere with the post she put in IG?
Vassy’s “Hustlin’” will be the #1 record on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart tomorrow! The song pays homage to Crystal Waters’ nineties house classic, “Gypsy Woman”.
Crystal Waters has come out in full support of the record, even appearing in the song’s music video. You can check it out at:
The song follows “Bad”, Vassy’s collaboration with David Guetta. It was a summer smash! The music video for “Bad” has had nearly 200 million views to date. Check it out at:
Bad girl Vassy lands at the #1 spot on Billboard’s Club Chart with Hustlin’, her latest club banger that pays homage to Crystal Waters’ nineties house classic, Gypsy Woman. It’s just the latest fete in what has been a phenomenal year for the Australian-born beauty.
Her David Guetta & Showtek- produced rebel anthem, Bad, went Platinum internationally this summer, climbing to the Top 10 on the pop charts. Another single, We Are Young, was featured in the trailer for Disney’s Oscar-winning film Frozen and in an ad campaign for Target. It was also selected as the theme for the music video awards show in Greece. In The Sun served as the soundtrack for Pepsi’s Real Big Summer campaign and the infectious Lucky Day track was featured in Victoria Secret’s Body by Victoria commercial.
Produced by Dave Audé and Crazibiza, Hustlin’ has been causing a stir in the underground club scene since August. It topped the Beatport chart earlier this fall. Crystal Waters has come out in full support of the record, even appearing in the song’s music video, directed by Vassy and Michelangelo Reyes.
“The idea was not to remake Gypsy Woman,” explains Vassy. “Why do that? The original is perfection. We wanted to reinterpret the track; re-invent it for today’s dance floor. It was important for me to smack my own stamp on it.”
Like the nineties version, Hustin’ is about aggressively chasing one’s dreams at all costs. That’s exactly what Vassy has done. In addition to creating hits for herself, she has written and collaborated with artists like Pitbull, Scooter, Paris Hilton, AfroJack, Sultan & Ned Sheperd and Bob Sinclar. Her music has been featured on TV’s Grey’s Anatomy, Human Target, Ugly Betty and Nickelodeon’s Dora The Explorer; on The Sims and FIFA 08 video games; and in commercials for Hilton Hotels, Chevrolet, Sketchers, Google and Diet Sprite. In January, her Real Love single will be featured in a new Target commercial running through April.
She says she learned early on in life that it was better to stand out than play it safe. At seven, she remembers being kicked out of her school choir because she wouldn’t sing along with the rest of the chorus. “I wanted to sing solo,” she explains. She would eventually leave Australia to pursue her music dreams in America.
In 2010, Vassy released her first track, History. Produced by Richard Vission, the song’s soulful dance drive played heavily on KISS FM and Power 106 in Los Angeles, as well as nationally on MTV. She followed it with a string of Top 10 Billboard dance hits, including Mad, a club track she co-wrote and produced with Phil Bentley and Dave Audé.
However, it was her collaboration with David Guetta & Showtek on Bad that launched Vassy’s music career into overdrive. Its music video on YouTube has nearly 200 million views and has exposed Vassy to millions of new fans around the world. USA Today spotlighted her as a rising EDM vocalist alongside Matthew Koma (Wasted), Bebe Rexha (Take Me Home) and John Martin (Don’t You Worry Child).
In the USA Today article, Vassy explained the groundswell appeal of EDM: “It lives in its own world. (Success) doesn’t even mean radio — its fan base is so hardcore. They need us and we need them. They play to massive crowds and we put a melody and lyric to songs that allow them to connect with people on an authentic level.”
For 2015, Vassy is gearing to release her debut album, We Are Young. It is a fun, upbeat, quirky, soulfully dynamic album of indie-laced anthems and gems. “It is free spirited and playful, like me,” she says.
“This next chapter in my life is about being courageous,” she continues. “In 2015, I’m standing tall, proud and loud. And having fun, of course!”
Hustlin’ is available on iTunes now. For more information on Vassy, visit her official website: http://www.kissmyvassy.com.
You know we here at TrueSlamBook must Keep it 100. While scrolling youtube recently we came across a California artist by the name of RJ. This RnB singing, Body Banging, Fine specimen of a Man, made the team “Tingle” if you know what I mean.
After hitting play on his track entitled “U know it Ain’t Love” featuring the King himself Pitbull we were mesmerized by the sculpted face. Fashion Swagger. And, Upbeat execution of his vocals.
You know this prompted us to keep going. Babeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, when we ever came across “Right Here” the Fountain began to Leak. The sexiness that he delivered in this video is one that CANNOT be DENIED. The Smooth Brown Skin with the Ripped Abs and the Lips that look ever so….. Oh, I mean the Vocals that are eargasmic and force you to pay attention. This is def an RJ Special.
Now, you know we must tell it how it is. After seeing the 2 videos by this amazing artist, we wonder where the track with Pitbull comes from. Granted it is a fun party track, but it is apparent with “Right Here” that RJ is a true R&B Artist and is able to sell Sexxxx by accident. It’s times like this we just want to call Managers and say “Really???” “Why????” But, we can’t do that because we know they must have a plan. Or at least, we hope. #NoShade.
All and all, on behalf of TSB, We LOVE you RJ. Don’t be afraid to send us some extra pics…… LoL!!!!!! -TSB
