Rapper Kid Ink weighed in on Iggy Azalea’s legitimacy as a rap and hip hop artist, “For me, as soon as I see numbers, I respect numbers over everything. You can see this many records that is what it is.” He later explained, “At the same time like she’s getting help from these other artists and is still being developed as an artist, I feel like. Whereas a lot of other artists who are doing so much on their own who are still in that same status and caliber that are upset that they don’t have that chance because they don’t have that same team or background.” Kid Ink sounded off on the ongoing war of words between Azealia Banks and Iggy Azalea. He shared his opinion on Azealia Banks saying, “Personally I haven’t been able to ever see her point of view on a personal basis, I don’t know, I’m not really familiar with her as an artist.” (clips below)

Kid Ink also shared his thoughts on Kendrick Lamar’s controversial remarks about racial tension in Ferguson, Mo and gave Larry his own opinion on what isn’t working, “I am very sympathetic to situations especially when people pass but I never have ever agreed with the riot factor, like that just never works. I don’t feel like it works for anyone, it doesn’t make anything better at the end of the day and a lot of people lose from that.” (clip below)

The “Full Speed” artist talked about whether or not the rap and hip hop community will be open to embracing a mainstream gay artist, “Yeah, you know what I’m saying, if the lyrics and everything is acceptable to that urban community,” and added that it might be a slow acceptance process. Kid Ink ended the interview by giving Larry his very own tattoo sleeve featuring all of Larry’s favorite things. (clips below)

You know we here at TSB vow to tell the Truth and Nothing but the Truth. Recently we received a Tweet from rapper Tyson Kruze aka  Ty Ali in reference to his new music video for “She Got Me Like” that was recently placed into rotation on MTV Jams. See for yourself:

Now, I don’t know who told him to do it, but since he did…… Here it is….

The video begins with a beautiful opening shot that really draws the viewer in.

From there Ty Ali takes us on a journey regarding him and the young lady and how she has him OPEN. The quality of the video is truly to be commended. Shouts to the Producer for making the visual a quality filled product.

Now, lets talk about this video:

First of all, I got bout tired of Ty and the leading on the last on the damn pier. The video is almost 4 minutes long and that 4 minutes is spread amongst 3 scenes. The pier, The apartment, and The courts of which the pier is the primary.

IMG_39181 IMG_39211 IMG_39141Now, in all fairness it is a beautiful scenery, however, he needs to call the video “Chillin on the Pier with Shanty.” Because that’s what he did for 75% of the video.

While on the Pier, the Leading lady is wearing a cute chill day outfit. He face is beat but not too intense. Her Jewelry matches the imagery of Ty Ali and all is in order. Well, all except her hair. Chile, I don’t know who let her walk on set with that puffy ass bang wrap. Now, I understand if it MAY be REAL and All Natural or whatever, but she needs a Good Flat Iron with a Shine finish.

I promise you her hair annoyed me all on the pier. Gurllllllllllllll. Not Cute dot com….. In any case, I must admit, while on the Pier Ty Ali was df in O.G. Mode. His Waves was on flee and his smile was brighter than the son. Damnnnnnnn Ty Ali, where you be at???

For the next scene we move to the apartment. Honestly, I can’t fully say the APARTMENT as the shots were so tight we could’ve been at the extended stay for all I know. LoL.

Anyway, Leading Lady answers the door and her hair begins to annoy me all over again.

Here we go with the puffiness. Maybe the air was misty  or summit. All I know is, I want to go heat the flat iron up myself and get that Red Pressing Grease out the cabinet and go to work.

As they sit on the couch and chill, she’s cute or whatever, but who told her ass to do the Ashanti Side Sweep in the Back Hair-Du???? Gurrrrrrrrrrrrrllllllll #ByeFelicia. (You gotta see the video) Then, as she sits there while Ty Ali is rapping to her, the interaction she provides is DRY like Wood Dust. She sitting her puffy hair ass on the couch not giving sexy at ALL. Mind you, Ty Ali is licking his lips, making eye contact, doing everything to make the kitty Purrrrrrrr. By this point, I feel like the video has gone from “She Got Me Like” to “He Tryna to Ger Her Like.” I swear he was trine get her in the mood and she sitting there like Sister Mary Clarence…….. Haaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy Puffy Hair Boring Girl.

Last but not least we go to the Basketball Court. At this point i’m over her. R.I.P to her being the Leading Lady, she’s now the Fill In…… Her interaction was yet again BLANK and you know you suppose to be on 1000 when you at the court with your dude. Being at the court with your dude is him letting the team know that you are the ONE. Yo are suppose to have the Swagger on a Million. The interactions on a Billion and the Baddie Status to Infinity and Beyond. Chileeeeeeeeee, she made me fall asleep…… #ByeAgainFelicia

The world is in uproar over the Darren Wilson verdict. Usually we at TrueSlamBook.com stay away from political matters and religious based debates. However, this one causes for us to make a statement.

We have followed the story all the way through and many things have stood out. The thing that hurts us the most is the way the matter is being labeled.

This isn’t about a crime against a black male. This is a crime against an American Youth on American Soil. There are many contributing factors that go into the actions that took place that day. There has been evidence, testimony, expert evaluations and more. The one thing that is a #FACT is that we all were not there.

An officer killed a youth and the world began an uproar and called it a protest. Many artist made songs bashing the officer and bashing the justice system. I think by now we have learned that the world of justice is driven by interpretation, environmental upbringing and status quo. Equality is built on what one perceives should be oppose to true fairness.

New Orleans born rapper Turk dropped a song entitled “You Mad Yet.” This track however, is unlike the others. Turk decided to take the anger and direct it towards life. This track shows that individuals can understand that a situation is a circumstance that one can overcome. “You Mad Yet” shows how one can overcome adversity, defy the odds and turn the negatives into motivation.

At a time when Black America is so angered and outraged by the outcome of the Ferguson Verdict, is a time that motivation should be at an all time high. Fuel the drive with anger. Turn tragedy into triumph. Create a new generation of Activist. Begin to fight for the Civil Rights of a Nation and not just a Race. Allow Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton to lead from the office. It’s time the new generation learn to lead the Nation.

It saddens us to know that we have missed the mark on being united. Funny thing is, I just wanna know: “You Mad Yet???”

Vassy’s “Hustlin’” will be the #1 record on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart tomorrow! The song pays homage to Crystal Waters’ nineties house classic, “Gypsy Woman”.

Bad girl Vassy lands at the #1 spot on Billboard’s Club Chart with Hustlin’, her latest club banger that pays homage to Crystal Waters’ nineties house classic, Gypsy Woman. It’s just the latest fete in what has been a phenomenal year for the Australian-born beauty.

Her David Guetta & Showtek- produced rebel anthem, Bad, went Platinum internationally this summer, climbing to the Top 10 on the pop charts. Another single, We Are Young, was featured in the trailer for Disney’s Oscar-winning film Frozen and in an ad campaign for Target. It was also selected as the theme for the music video awards show in Greece. In The Sun served as the soundtrack for Pepsi’s Real Big Summer campaign and the infectious Lucky Day track was featured in Victoria Secret’s Body by Victoria commercial.

Produced by Dave Audé and Crazibiza, Hustlin’ has been causing a stir in the underground club scene since August. It topped the Beatport chart earlier this fall. Crystal Waters has come out in full support of the record, even appearing in the song’s music video, directed by Vassy and Michelangelo Reyes.

“The idea was not to remake Gypsy Woman,” explains Vassy. “Why do that? The original is perfection. We wanted to reinterpret the track; re-invent it for today’s dance floor. It was important for me to smack my own stamp on it.”

Like the nineties version, Hustin’ is about aggressively chasing one’s dreams at all costs. That’s exactly what Vassy has done. In addition to creating hits for herself, she has written and collaborated with artists like Pitbull, Scooter, Paris Hilton, AfroJack, Sultan & Ned Sheperd and Bob Sinclar. Her music has been featured on TV’s Grey’s Anatomy, Human Target, Ugly Betty and Nickelodeon’s Dora The Explorer; on The Sims and FIFA 08 video games; and in commercials for Hilton Hotels, Chevrolet, Sketchers, Google and Diet Sprite. In January, her Real Love single will be featured in a new Target commercial running through April.


She says she learned early on in life that it was better to stand out than play it safe. At seven, she remembers being kicked out of her school choir because she wouldn’t sing along with the rest of the chorus. “I wanted to sing solo,” she explains. She would eventually leave Australia to pursue her music dreams in America.
In 2010, Vassy released her first track, History. Produced by Richard Vission, the song’s soulful dance drive played heavily on KISS FM and Power 106 in Los Angeles, as well as nationally on MTV. She followed it with a string of Top 10 Billboard dance hits, including Mad, a club track she co-wrote and produced with Phil Bentley and Dave Audé.

However, it was her collaboration with David Guetta & Showtek on Bad that launched Vassy’s music career into overdrive. Its music video on YouTube has nearly 200 million views and has exposed Vassy to millions of new fans around the world. USA Today spotlighted her as a rising EDM vocalist alongside Matthew Koma (Wasted), Bebe Rexha (Take Me Home) and John Martin (Don’t You Worry Child).

In the USA Today article, Vassy explained the groundswell appeal of EDM: “It lives in its own world. (Success) doesn’t even mean radio — its fan base is so hardcore. They need us and we need them. They play to massive crowds and we put a melody and lyric to songs that allow them to connect with people on an authentic level.”
For 2015, Vassy is gearing to release her debut album, We Are Young. It is a fun, upbeat, quirky, soulfully dynamic album of indie-laced anthems and gems. “It is free spirited and playful, like me,” she says.

“This next chapter in my life is about being courageous,” she continues. “In 2015, I’m standing tall, proud and loud. And having fun, of course!”

You know we here at TrueSlamBook must Keep it 100. While scrolling youtube recently we came across a California artist by the name of RJ. This RnB singing, Body Banging, Fine specimen of a Man, made the team “Tingle” if you know what I mean.

After hitting play on his track entitled “U know it Ain’t Love” featuring the King himself Pitbull we were mesmerized by the sculpted face. Fashion Swagger. And, Upbeat execution of his vocals.

You know this prompted us to keep going. Babeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, when we ever came across “Right Here” the Fountain began to Leak. The sexiness that he delivered in this video is one that CANNOT be DENIED. The Smooth Brown Skin with the Ripped Abs and the Lips that look ever so….. Oh, I mean the Vocals that are eargasmic and force you to pay attention. This is def an RJ Special.

Now, you know we must tell it how it is. After seeing the 2 videos by this amazing artist, we wonder where the track with Pitbull comes from. Granted it is a fun party track, but it is apparent with “Right Here” that RJ is a true R&B Artist and is able to sell Sexxxx by accident. It’s times like this we just want to call Managers and say “Really???” “Why????” But, we can’t do that because we know they must have a plan. Or at least, we hope. #NoShade.

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay, My TrueSlamBookers. Now you know we at TSB only give props where props are due. No Shade, No Tea, but we can’t be falsifying props.

Recently we were on Twitter doing what I do best, TweetAlking (Twitter Stalking) and we were sent a link. Now we all know TSB doesn’t click links. You will not interrupt our good tweetalking session. So, as usual we advised the sender to email it to us. Upon checking our email, we were provided the link to a new project entitled “Bi: The WebSeries” by: 4UBiUS Productions True Tea, you know I rolled my eyes and was like “Here we go again.” LoL! You remember the Tea we had to Spill on FreeFall: The Series. #Oop. However, we must admit that when we hit play we were instantly addicted. Imagine Will & Grace meets Living Single… Yes Bytch, you read it right.

First off, the Lead character Alex is Fine as FUKK. That brown skin, pretty smile, clean shave, and big dick print… (Clears Throat) Secondly, the friendship circle displayed reminds us of us. The Lead bytch, the Lost bytch, the Last bytch, and the Odd man out. LoL! You know we had to watch an episode. Mind You, 45 minutes later all our chips was gone and we had viewed the whole damn season. Heeeeeeeeeeeeeey Alex… Anyway, we realized we couldn’t keep it to ourselves so, please allow me to introduce you to Bi: The WebSeries.
