Carhartt WIP is Now Available

Carhartt first came to light in 1889 when Mr. Hamilton Carhart started to produce workwear clothing for the industries in and around Michigan and eventually further afield.

Hamilton was a businessman and was keen to make a product that stood out from the rest. He even added an extra ‘t’ to the end of his name so he stood out from other people with the same surname. Carhartt developed a heavy-duty duck canvas in their now-famous Hamilton brown colorway. The aim of the game was not to produce the cheapest but to produce the best workwear that would outlast others.

Carhartt WIP is available to buy online and in-store at Working Class Heroes

Hoodrich AW18 Featuring Romzy and Friends #FromNothingtoSomething

Birmingham brand, Hoodrich has been making a name for itself since it was founded in 2014. Jay, the founder of Hoodrich, has turned his passion for underground streetwear, musical influences and acquired sartorial know-how into a business.

2019 sees Hoodrich now being stocked in the UK’s home of urban lifestyle gear; Footasylum. For their AW19 collection which is stocked in Footasylum, Hoodrich has teamed up with South East London’s brightest new act, Romzy to be the forefront of their first drop.

SHOP THE COLLECTION

Hoodrich is inspired by street culture and this is shown through the products and designs that they produce. With this collection they have focused on how they can improve their products. The colours that they have chosen, which is a mixture of white, grey, black and red have been specifically chosen as they are easy to wear. They have used a premium logo application which you can see on the products. This allows them to stand out amongst other brands.

One things that sets Hoodrich apart is that they have concealed pockets in some of their crews, hoodies and trousers. This is a thought out idea as they realise that people carry small possessions (such as earpods, wallets and oysters) that they need to be protected or concealed without losing them.

A Black Lady’s Sketch Show… It’s a No, Sis!

If you search our social media, it’s no secret that we were super excited for A Black Lady’s Sketch Show to hit HBO. The entire team upgraded their Hulu to include HBO just for the show.

With the recent release of episode 4 we can say with certainty that the show is WACK AS FUCKKKKKK. Omg! Who the fuck is in the writers’ room?

Let’s talk:

The show is fashionably perfect. Visually appealing. And, the Melanin is poppin. However, the comedy is blah and the cohesiveness is missing. With a cast of super talented women and creative minds such as Issa Rae, Robin Thede and Lauren Ashley Smith as a Lead Writer, come on sis! This show should be knocking it out the park. Instead, we still tryna past first base.

At this point, can we get a few Wayans Brothers on the writing team? We appreciate the all female writers, but this is some bullshit!

To date, Episode 1 was the best and it has gotten worse and worse by the episode.

Have you seen it yet? If so, what’s your take?

About HYPE.

Reality creates dreams, and dreams become reality. Who would have thought, the words ‘Get Your Own Lighter’ inscribed onto a lighter, and a simple script over a floral-printed tee would turn into a household name and become an instantly-recognisable global brand. HYPE. started off with a small office space in Leicester rapidly taking over the whole building. Employees would grab a skateboard to get from unit to unit dodging security, and taking photoshoots on the roof.

With the use of Social platforms, HYPE. made their mark in the fashion world. With global superstars such as Jay-Z, Cara Delevingne and Tom Hardy representing the brand.

Currently HYPE. have two offices, one in the heart of Shoreditch, London, and the headquarters residing in a then-abandoned warehouse. Transformed with the Trotter Independent Trading Co three-wheeler, The Hype and Hounds pub, a games area with Time Crisis 2 and interior and exterior graffiti.
