TSB Film Review: Beauty and The Beast
We all know the legendary story of Beauty and the Beast.
Belle (Emma Watson), a bright, beautiful and independent young woman, is taken prisoner by a beast (Dan Stevens) in its castle. Despite her fears, she befriends the castle’s enchanted staff and learns to look beyond the beast’s hideous exterior, allowing her to recognize the kind heart and soul of the true prince that hides on the inside.
Last night, we took a trip to see our childhood favorite film. Expecting to smile and have a few childhood memories it was an absolute surprise what we walked away with.
Beauty and the Beast was a life changing experience. Upon paying attention to the Beast, you learn how treating others poorly could have a negative impact on your life. Through watching Belle, you learn to never judge a book by its cover and allow for a person to show you who they really are.
As far as this remake is concerned, it was truly amazing. The costuming was sheer genius. The acting was perfectly executed and the musical delight were earpleasing.
This film gets a 10/10 for Relateability and Costuming. Emma Watson was an awesome pick for Belle. Her talent and Beauty really allow her to shine in this role. As always, Chip (the teacup) stole the whole show. LoL! His cuteness will always be epic.
If you haven’t make sure you take time to enjoy a tale as old as time and go see Beauty and the Beast in your local theatre.

Trailer Review ‘Almost Christmas’ by David E. Talbert
When you hear the name David E. Talbert, what comes to mind? For us here at #TSB the words Play Writer. Story teller. Film Director. Perspective Genius. And, Hilarious come to mind, just to name a few. A few months back, David sent out an email advising of his upcoming project entitled, “Almost Christmas.”Releasing on November 11th, 2016; Almost Christmas is a hilarious family comedy that has a character for everyone.
From writer/director David E. Talbert (Baggage Claim) and producer Will Packer (Ride Along, Think Like a Man series, This Christmas), Almost Christmas tells the festive story of a beloved patriarch who asks his family for one gift this holiday season: to get along. If they can honor that wish and spend five days under the same roof without killing one another, it will be a Christmas miracle.
The all-star cast of Almost Christmas is led by Kimberly Elise (best know for crying ass TT in Set it off), Danny Glover (known best from his role in Lethal Weapon), John Michael Higgins (we don’t know where he comes from), Romany Malco (who’s this?), Mo’Nique (an original Queen of Comedy. The one Hollywood blacklisted), JB Smoove (the black guy who does comedy but needs to give it up), Gabrielle Union (the bougie one from Hampton), Omar Epps (oh yes. His fine ass from Love and Basketball), Nicole Ari Parker (the iconic green eyed beauty from Baltimore who slays all her scripts), Jessie T. Usher (who?) and DC Young Fly (the Atlanta Native made famous thanks to Social Media).
The trailer for the film has been released and we all were in tears. Mo’Niques character literally carried this trailer. We haven’t seen the full film yet, but we are excited to see what David has done with such a story in conjunction with this cast line up.
Based on the trailer this film is being deemed a MUST SEE by the TrueSlamBook.com staff.
