Movie Review “Girls Trip”

We finally had the opportunity to experience “Girls Trip” and it was PHENOMENAL.

Best friends Ryan, Sasha, Lisa and Dina are in for the adventure of a lifetime when they travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. Along the way, they rekindle their sisterhood and rediscover their wild side by doing enough dancing, drinking, brawling and romancing to make the Big Easy blush.

We walked into the film expecting to laugh through the entire movie and have an entertaining experience. However, upon completion of the film, you realize that there is a story amongst the humor and even deeper, a form of self realization within the story.

Jada Pinkett Smith

We all know Girls Trip is based on 4 girlfriends taking a trip to the Essence Festival in the hopes of reconnecting and fixing their strained relationship. During this trip, you begin to learn each member of the group and you subconsciously start to place your friends into their roles.

For those who haven’t seen it, we strongly suggest you do, however, we won’t give it all away, during the comedy there are some hurdles that each character experiences. These hurdles begin to cause you to realize which girl you relate the most to. Furthermore, you begin to ask yourself, “what would I do?”

From the Nights out on the town, to the intimate conversations in bed, this film has something for everyone. Male and Female.

Now! Let’s get into the film as a whole:

“Bad Moms” #TSB Movie Review

The team went to see “Bad Moms” yesterday and can I just say we were WOWED!!!!!!

Amy (Mila Kunis) has a great husband, overachieving children, beautiful home and successful career. Unfortunately, she’s also overworked, exhausted and ready to snap. Fed up, she joins forces with two other stressed-out mothers (Kristen Bell, Kathryn Hahn) to get away from daily life and conventional responsibilities. As the gals go wild with their newfound freedom, they set themselves up for the ultimate showdown with PTA queen bee Gwendolyn and her clique of seemingly perfect moms.

The film as a whole presents a very positive message that it is okay to be human and understand that no one is perfect. To our surprise, the film didn’t take the path we thought it was on party moms who are bad at parenting.

The wow factor for us was when Jada Pinkett Smith popped up on our screen. Not only was her hair LAYED like Blue Magic but her Shade was absolutely EPIC.

The entire cast as a whole did an amazing job. Huge kudos to Christina Applegate for coming back with a vengeance. She played the mean girl is such a way as you felt her hits through the screen.

As it relates to the 3 main ladies, I dare you to go with your crew and not be able to relate to one if not all of them. I swear to you we were in tears from laughing so hard and talking about who in the team was who.

Overall, Bad Moms gets an A rating from the TrueSlamBook team. Make sure you take the time to go see it.
