Beyoncé No Jay

Still in our petty mode. Beyoncé was on the town the other night for her step fathers Birthday Dinner. Though it was a beautiful family affair, the question of the night was, “Where was Jay-Z??”

This picture caused the rumor mill to run rampid.

According to a guest from the night Jay-Z was not behind the camera taking the picture. So, the question still remains, where was he?

Here was our thoughts:

  • He had to babysit Blue.
  • He was afraid of Solangé.
  • He was with Becky.
  • He left early.
  • He was working in his album.
  • Bey needed some space.
  • He was waiting in the car.

Tell us what you think. Do you think Jay was staying away? Or, was he just busy and people are trying to read too much into it???

Grammys 2017: The Beyonce, Adele, and Chance The Rapper Takeover

This is not for the meek. We are going to keep it all the way real and go all the way in. Brace yourself as this will be a session of Grammy Truth 101.

  1. The Grammys were waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too LONG!
  2. Paris Jackson looked so Basic
  3. Adele STORMED the night  with her wins but left her singing voice in the Limo
  4. Beyonce’ was Utter Slayage
  5. Bruno Mars KILLED the Prince tribute
  6. Chance The Rapper was on a whole nother Level
  7. Solange looked amazing for her 37 seconds of airtime
  8. Katy Perry was Awesome
  9. J. Lo is a Sex Goddess and her dress was oh so perfect on her
  10. Jason Derulo looked like he was at a Ski Resort
  11. John Leged was awesome
  12. Neil Diamond still has it
  13. Faith Hill looked so Beautiful

Now that that is out of the way, let’s get down to Business.

Jay-Z and Blue Ivy looked so cute in their evening attire. It has been said that Blue Ivy was channeling her inner Prince with the Gucci effect.

Everyone on our timeline was waiting for Beyonce to hit the stage. In all honesty, all we remember prior to that is Chance the Rapper winning a lot of awards (Best New Artist, Best Rap Album, Best Rap Performance). LoL!

When Beyonce hit the stage a lot of fans were confused by her effect. Some were praising the Goddess look and others were wanting her to try again. While scrolling down twitter we found the following explanation for the effect and thought it was interesting enough to share.

Now, on to the effect:

What are your thoughts on the effect Queen-Yonce gave???

As we move to the main awards for the night, at least in our opinion.

  • Album Of The Year- Adele
  • Song of the Year- Adele
  • Record of the Year- Adele

Chileeeeeeee, when this came out the Bey-Hive went into a stir. No shade to Adele, “Hello” was an amazing song and “25” was a dope album, however, “Lemonade” SLAYED for the Music GODZZZZZ and was the Talk of Pop Culture for months. Fans felt Bey was shaded by the Grammy Panel. Take a look at the reaction from Gabrielle Union after the Adele streak:

Your Thoughts????

Furthermore, some interesting facts were dropped on twitter last night. Not that everything is race driven, however, this breakdown made us wonder:

Interesting…….

Though Rihanna took home no awards, the Navy showed out with their support for her outfit. No shade, the top was cute, but the skirt could have stayed on the table she pulled it off of.

We love us some Ri-Ri, but the skirt is def on our No Go list.

In any case, we didn’t see Kelly Rowland but thanks to Solange we got to see her at the after party. Haaaaaaaaay Kelly!

All in all, the Grammys were way too long for no reason at all. Congrats to all the Winners and those who received Nominations. And, in honor of the award giving, our Favorite Pics of the Night Award goes to……….

What are your thoughts on the 2017 Grammys? Good, Bad, or Indifferent.

#TSB Album Review: ‘A Seat at the Table’ by Solangé

After taking a few years away from the spotlight, Solange comes back with a boom, a bang, and a pow.

Hitting the consumers with 51 minutes of pure musical magic and harmonious pleasantries we were introduced to ‘A Seat at the Table.” A 21 piece tracklist personally structured by Solange herself, we are introduced to her recent mood, views, feelings and more via:

  1. Rise
  2. Weary
  3. Interlude: The Glory is in You
  4. Cranes in the Sky
  5. Interlude: Dad was Mad
  6. Mad feat. Lil Wayne
  7. Don’t You Wait
  8. Interlude: Tina Taught Me
  9. Don’t touch my Hair feat. Sampha
  10. Interlude: This Moment
  11. Where Do We Go
  12. Interlude: For Us By Us
  13. F. U. B. U. feat. The Dream and BJ The Chicago Kid
  14. Borderline (An Ode to Self Care)
  15. Interlude: I got so much magic, you can have it feat. Kelly Rowland and Nia Andrews
  16. Junie
  17. Interlude: No Limits
  18. Don’t Wish Me Well
  19. Interlude: Pedestals
  20. Scales feat. Kelela
  21. Closing: The Chosen Ones

The album opens with the soft melodic sounds of Rise. As always Solange captivates you with her smooth harmonies, perfect inflections and story based lyrics. As you continue on the project, you are taken on a journey. One of self recognition, survivor power, life lessons, and most of all purpose.

Towards the end of the project, Solange brings Master P. of No Limit into the story with his own story. Allowing P to express his story and reasonings, Solange adds a soundtrack to the story by pick up musically where the story begins to fade.

Teaching the power in No Limit you find out the meaning of Drive, Struggle and the will to Persevere. The combination of Master P. and Solange provides a mystical journey into power and control combined with self love and drive. The epic blend is such a powerful force that you wonder to yourself if Solange did this on purpose given the current standings of black lives in America.

Though this project is not heavy with too many features, Solange has just enough with the perfect people. Needless to say, she knows who she works well with.

#TSB Favorites:

  • Weary: Smooth. Easy Listening. Powerful message.
  • Mad: 90’s feel. Aaliyah vibe. Expressatory track. Relatable for the stories of the team. Great harmonies. Not too heavy while carrying a heavy message.
  • Don’t Touch My Hair: Epic translation of the Power in a Hair Du.
  • Interlude: No Limit: Inspiring. Powerful. Truth.

This is a TrueSlamBook certified project. It gets an overall score of 10/10. Solange has yet again outdone herself. More importantly, she has provided the black race with hope, inspiration, and reason at a time when the Nation is divided and the message is being carried that “Black Lives Matter!”

Dear Solange: Really? Him? Can we talk about this please?

All I was trying to do was mind my business and have a nice day. Why did someone have to submit these pics and dare me to say how I felt? Well, since you asked…….

IMG_3348.PNG

I have a few questions. Now, Solange you know I lives for me some you. I love your music, your spirit, and your originality. No Shade Gurl, at times I even think you sing better than Bey. Haaaaaaaayyyyyy Yoncé!

IMG_3350.PNG

1. Why you marry him?
2. Do he wake up like that?
3. Ain’t he Matthews age?
4. What Julius think about him?
5. Did you just marry him because Common was unavailable?
6. Do he got a good Stroke Game?
7. Can he keep up with you?
8. What did Tina say?
9. Bytch, do he got Coin like dat like dat?
10. Do he smell like Drakkár Noìr?
11. Why Bytch Why?

Okay, now! I’m all for loving who you want or whateva. But I feel like this match is really disturbing. Like, didn’t him and Matthew go to high school together or something? Then, Erbody talking about Matthew with young Women. What about Solangé with Grandfathers?

IMG_3353.PNG

Bish, like was there really no other pickings for you? Bytch you know in still in love with your Baby Daddy with his Fine ass. Chile, whatever he did it can be forgiven. Go back to him. Ooh chile, I know he made ur cooty cat WETT. Mind you, does this one even do positions other than Missionary? Chile, he look like he gave sex in dress socks and be slipping by accident.

On another note, I know it was Solangé wedding. However, I just wanted to see the pics to see what Bey had on.

IMG_3351.PNG

Bytchhhhhhhhhhhh. When I tell you Beyoncè Slayed in this Body Con dress and Bangy platform. Bish, u Betta come thru and Secretly steal my Attention.

IMG_3352.PNG

Yes Bytch. Bey Stormed!!!!!

Now back to Langé and Daddy Warbucks. I really wanna comb his beard and give it a deep condition. It looks like it smells like back when.

Lastly, what was Solangé giving in this outfit Hunni?

IMG_3349.PNG

I mean like Bytch right, this Aaliyah inspired Queen of the Damned look was cute for HER or whateva. #TrueTea, this outfit is not #Tea for what’s suppose to be one of the most memorable days of your life. I do NOT want to remember this outfit. -TSB
